We just planned a 40 day trip to Washington DC from Los Angeles. We used the Streets and Trips to plot the various stops so that the driving days were about the same length. Once we found a city where we wanted to stop, I used the Streets and Trips "Find Nearby Places" to locate the available campgrounds. On a second screen, we opened Woodall's Campground site and checked the ratings/reviews on each site. It was easy and allowed us to check the campground website by clicking on their website button.

To my way of thinking spend the money you would use on a trip planner and go out to dinner. I prefer to sit down one weekend evening and plan out the trip on Google maps. You can make whatever adjustments you want to the route, and check out side trips you want. GPS systems get very aggravated when you deviate from the route that you have selected.

I would suggest you go to Undertow's website and check there for what you want to know. There is a POI function but not sure what it does.

Thanks, I have checked there and couldn't find the subject addressed in any detail. I thought possibly an actual user might know. Thanks anyway.

Look into Delorme Street Atlas. We've used it for 20 years. We're fond of getting off those interstates and exploring and this program makes it very easy to route the way WE want to go.

A very professional program. Easy to use. I have used the Street Atlas USA Plus & USB GPS Bundle for many years.

I have used Garmin, Magellan, Rand McNally and Delorme is tops.

Going back in, yes, there is alot less information. Does have websites and telephone numbers. Not much for directions other then GPS location.

Can you import POIs as long as they're in .CSV format? How about low clearance, speed and red light cameras? Can you set the warning distance?

That is strange as my software shows GS parks in red and others in blue. It may not have all the GS information but it does show whether they are good sam parks in the information.

Okay, I guess what they were upset about on the other forum is that there were no ratings, no link to a website, etc.

The Undertow software is a later version of the Trailer Life software. GS is not selling it any more for some reason.
As for routing I prefer Microsoft Streets and trips but use the Undertow to locate campgrounds.

According to the posts on their forum, Trailer Life and Undertow have severed their relationship so there is no TL info included in this new UT product.
