Trying to get ready!!

I have several camping trips coming up...Jackson, CA, Lakeview, OR., Humboldt, Iowa...but, I still, in 6 weeks, haven't heard from my Ford truck dealer that the Michelin tires (recalled) are available. Makes me nervous! I called 2 weeks ago, and the service manager said they are still not delivered...I guess very back-logged! Any tips out there?

    I am waiting for tires as well and was hoping they would come before our March break trip to Florida. They were still on back-order so went with the old tires, I didn't give it a second thought. My tires are at the very beginning of the recall and are 4 years old so by the time they're replaced I will have gotten a full life out of them.

    Hope they get some in for you.
    I would worry about the tires the whole trip now that I know about the defect.
    I had 2 of the recalled tires fail last October trip.
    Not fun.

    Don't know but they are a stocking Michelin dealer with 30 locations. The manager said I was the third one in his store the past week for replacements and that they had been out of stock for about a month due to the recalls.

    That must be because they don't stock many of that type.
    One phone call to Discount tire and they ordered them for me.
    No information taken except for name and phone number so they could notify me when they came in.

    My discount tire store actually tries to keep them in stock all the time.

    Ford dealer around me had not heard of recall. Service manager said he would help me out. I tried some Michelin dealers and the last one said he would get a shipment in three weeks. That was two weeks ago. We will see what happens this week.

    Ford does not make or warrant the tires. Take it to a Michelin dealer. They are the one who will take care of you!

    Try Discount Tires, Big O etc. You don't have to deal with a Ford dealer(I would definitely call that "Plan B"). The good news you will love the new Michelin LTX M/S 2's, don't let anyone talk you into settling for less. Good Luck!
