also check and make sure the return spring on the air cylinder isn't broken as that is what opens the butterfly valve back up

yes but as said I doubt the turbo was bad and I bet the brake stuck on

Lube all moving parts and remove the air line and apply about 5 or 6 drops in the hose and replace, should be done once a year.

A retired truck mechanic told me he seen instance where the Pac brake stuck in the near closed or closed position. He thought they were poor product. I agree with him as I have had mine off twice to unseize it. I oiled it up with the Pac Brake oil after 500 miles it seized up again. At least it's seized in the open position. When it was working it was not a big help braking anyhow. It makes me wonder how many of those Pacbrakes out there are really functional. The retired mechanic opinion seems correct.

The Pac brake needs to be lubricated once per year and there is pacbrake lubricant. Google "pacbrake lubricant" and you will find lots of places that sell it. In the Freightliner manual for your coach, there is a maintenance item for it and there is a diagram that shows the lubrication points, In my coach, I have to remove a panel in the floor of the bedroom to access it.

yes but really how do u know for sure the turbo was at fault when the ex brake is jammed shut?? bad turbo or ex brake jammed = same power lose

Not a cat guy but my friend has 100K on his C7 and never had any major problems

I always leave it on, I did loose power, would only manage a fast idle, was fine after turbo change. Is the c7 a dependable engine, and for how many miles with a good service plan?

they can seize up but they do so in a open position and most from inactivity
had a exhaust brake seized in the full close position you would have no power

The exhaust brake lite wont be on unless the brake switch is on no matter the position of the exhaust brake flapper valve

Was the exhaust brake light on, the whole time? Where you not feeling it, whenever you let up on the throttle?
I leave the brake on at all times, so it gets used frequently. Not sure if this will keep it from ever seizing up and have lubed it once, as well.
Have some super high temp grease on hand in paste form and coated everything that looked like it could move. If having to buy, I'd go with a spray can and one that's especially made for it.
