Going up Loveland pass in early June of this year, turbo got realy hot and quit working, was going over to Montrose Co. took the rest of day to limp in to rv spot we were going to. Ordered new turbo, 3200.oo, when mech. pulled it off to change he said exhaust brake had stuck shut whitch caused the problem. This is on a Cat c7, 330hp engine, 04'has anyone else had this problem, came home with exbrake wired open so I could repair after I got home.
Was the exhaust brake light on, the whole time? Where you not feeling it, whenever you let up on the throttle?
I leave the brake on at all times, so it gets used frequently. Not sure if this will keep it from ever seizing up and have lubed it once, as well.
Have some super high temp grease on hand in paste form and coated everything that looked like it could move. If having to buy, I'd go with a spray can and one that's especially made for it.
