Please indulge me for a few, while I vent. I recently listed my motorhome for sale in two different forums. I especifically stated the price was not negotiable. I have had several callers. One offered me ten thousand less than what I am asking. Others asked about slides, size, mileage. All that information is listed. What is wrong with these people? Don't they read? All callers sounded like in their mid 20s. I expected to hear from older callers. It seems each caller was totally uninformed and did not even know which ad they were asking about. I had to pry it out of them. What is happening?

Never list anything for sale at the price you want for it. Everybody expects a reduction from the asking price. It's just what we do. You should have added $10k more than you wanted and then negotiated. It's just how you sell big ticket items.

I've heard that if you say 'price firm' or 'price not negotiable' that it is a death sentence for a sale. Why say that anyway? Mark it up a few bucks as everyone wants a discount or something included in the sale.I like old cars and look often. If I see an ad that says 'price firm', etc., it's a turn-off and I move on. Also, they may ask you questions whose answers are "in the ad" to make sure you're a legitimate seller and actually have the RV you've posted for sale. If you state a mileage, number of slides, size, etc., that is different from what they read in the ad, then they don't waste time on a scam.

They obviously wouldn't;) That's a helluva double wide though and I'd think the price would have steered them in the right direction.

You have to get into triple wide's to get that many square feet.
