  • Wonder what the inside looks like.. Looks like it would sleep .5!
  • I am 6 feet tall so probably would need to sleep standing up. Also, it would be pretty much useless in the mountains.

So there were plans from MI to build the thing?

Yep. I think I've seen something about them being available online now, but I wouldn't swear to it. A few minutes with your preferred search engine should find out.

Jim, "Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle?"
  • After some tent camping, we had a lot of fun in our 1963 VW Westphlia "transporter" conversion. It had a gas turbine furnace, front bench seats made into kids bunk beds, breakfast nook converted into modest size bed, side door swung out and formed a place for the white gas stove, a huge tent attached to the side formed a covered patio and had a porta potty/changing room. Not much room for "stuff". Fairly typical of 60's European style camper conversions. Now these are expensive collector's items. When we upsized to a new Dodge B300 bubble top Family Wagon van/camper conversion, we thought we were in heaven. Most versatile vehicle we ever owned, 3 cross country tours and hundreds of nearby camping trips, and support vehicle for local events, mom's get-around.Oh to be a young family again!
