Washer dryer

How many use their washer and dryer enough to be worth while? I had new units installed in my last two MH's and never used them. I just carried them around for many years. This time I only have the W D prep just in case I feel the need to have one.

We full time and do at least a small load everyday. As I have heard many times "I just going to rinse a few things."

We spent nearly three years in a 32 foot fifth wheel with a Splendide washer dryer combo, the vented model.
We used it nearly every day, and at least three days a week twice a day.
I cleaned the filter once a week.
It was VERY nice to have!
Sadly, our present coach does not have one, and no good place to install one. If we go full timing, I will miss it. Trading coaches is not an option at this time.

If it is vented it works better. Also take the clothes out and shake them then put back in the dryer to dry. Shirts get hung up to dry overnight. Would not be without it. Do not use it on weekend trips but most of my trips are longer.

I am curious as to dry times. We use the wash feature, but it seems I could dry the clothes faster with a candle.
We usually do it all on our designated housekeeping day, about every 10 days or so. We clean out the bus, do laundry, cook the big fussy meal we never have, and just putz around the RV. But We wash it all, and then run it all over to the campground dryers. Saves time.

We have certainly thought about having one installed . That said We spend o lot of time in Mexico where there are plenty of Laundries who either pick up on a weekly schedule or are conveniently located nearby. Our bi weekly load usually cost less than $100 Pesos to have Washed,Dried and Folded . Often the bill is 75-80 ,but We always tip ! At 13 Pesos to the US Dollar ,I doubt the cost of a Machine is worthwhile!
The turn around time is usually the same day!

Reading a few of the posts suggests the the "don't want, don't use" opinions are mostly from uses that only take short trips where washing clothes isn't necessary.

On the other hand, I hate have a pile of dirty clothes stuffed in corners but to each their own on that one.

I guess we gravitate toward the W/D combo simply because it's easy and doesn't interfere with any activities. Some friends actually have used theirs on the road between stops.

would not leave home without one
a small load each day only takes a couple of minutes to throw in and fold when done.one less hassle than hauling load to Laundromat and sitting for a hour

Speaking only for my DW and myself -- we love it, use it, and just like a dishwasher we would never have a Coach with out it. we spend our days actively doing our thing when we get to the Coach at night we will start up the washer/dryer and have often let it rock us to sleep. When we are in our second state of Colorado we would let much of the load dry in the Coach to add a little Humidity to the interior making sleeping more comfortable, then just toss it to get it soft and comfy.

While we still sleep in hotels we both would rather sleep in our own bed - same goes for the washer, just like to keep it family.

I have many friends who only use their Coaches for trips and have never used the Washer or the Stove, to each his own.

We hardly ever use ours. The run time to winterize/de-winterize is probably about the same as actually washing clothes.
