Hope this isn't too dumb of a question! :@We don't get good water pressure when hooked up to water in our Class A Winnebago. I have even taken off the outside water filters and just run a direct hose to our hookup and still not much pressure. Our water pump has more than from the water system, but I guess that's to be expected.I know that there is a check valve thingy in the rig connection so water doesn't syphon out. Could that be acting up and need changing? If so, how do you get to it?Any other suggestions as to why the water pressure is so low? Sometimes there isn't enough to get through the shower head. It was replaced about a year ago, so hope that isn't it.Thanks for any suggestions.

The anti-syphon valve my have come apart and have caused a restriction. You can take those apart and check. If the spring is shot go to lowes or HD and get a brass chech-valve. They are far superior than those fitted in RVs.

Hi Ron, may have already done this, but did you remove the faucet screens and check for debris & calcium build up? Also our shower head has a slide valve to cut off water without using handles and it gets accidentally partially closed sometimes restricting the flow.

I'll have to assume that the water pressure at the CG is good........So, where you connect hose is a screen/washer (is it dirty/clogged) and behind it is the inlet check valve. The check valves are cheapo plastic junk (plunger/spring/o-ring). Sometimes the o-ring will get dislodged, the plunger will get cocked and crud can build up preventing it from fully opening.The check valve is typically part of the city water inlet assembly.

I generally leave my water pump on (55 psi shurflo extreme) and make sure to keep my onboard tank filled.Any screens in the system - check em.

I have a whole house filter setup outside the 5er. Unfortunately, it doesn't help the sediment problem. Once or twice a year, I'll have to unscrew the 90 degree elbow to my freshwater line and clear out any gunk that has built up just in front of hose washer/screen. I know when it's time to do that because the water pressure inside the RV drops drastically. This last time there was a palmfull of stuff in the elbow. Looked like coarse sand or very fine gravel. Only a pinhole was open for water to go through. Fortunately, it shook right out of the elbow. Now, I'm trying the screen closer to the water bib since the elbow is in a tight compartment and not easy to work with.

Your problem may be low flow not pressure. If you are using one of those small pressure regulators that you get when you purchase your RV, get rid of it and go to the Home Improvement store and get a regular house pressure regulator. You can get the regulator and the hose fitting necessary in the plumbing department. Get the 3/4 inch model and it will pass all the water you will need.

Check for clogged screens in each faucet and in the shower also. I had the kitchen faucet slow down and the screen in the aerator was clogged. I also recommend a better pressure regulator instead of an rv type.

Ditto. We always use on board water and pump. Have found too many campgrounds psi to be allover the range. High usage times, high and low pressure etc. We always us chlorinated water source. Never use well water.

Thanks for the suggestions. I had forgotten about the screens. I know that I changed the filter/screen at the water pump several years ago. Will check that again, but don't think that's it, since the water pump pressure is good.

I'm assuming that I will have to take out the connection for the water hookup point. Correct? I really have the feeling that is the problem. If so, I think that I will wait until we get back down to SC before I do that, rather than while on the road!!:B It would be obvious if you knew my lack of mechanical ability and the Peter Principle in action when I get any tools in my hands!!

My inlet screen was pluged up but couldn't see it until I took the plug-in/hose connector apart. I knew it was something like that because I had normal pressure using the water pump.
