Water pump question

I can't get the picture to post at a reasonable size so I'll just ask the question. I'm looking at our fresh water, water pump with the motor in the rear. There is a thumb tightened line coming into the right side of the pump. On the left is a plastic clear what looks to be a filter of some sort and another line running through that. I'm guessing the line with the thumb screw is the line that comes from the water source (city water or fresh water tank) and the line with the filter is the line that feeds the faucets, shower and toilets in the coach itself. The reason I ask is I want to put the pink RV anti freeze into the lines and I'm not sure which line is which. Sorry for the book, just wanted to explain. If need be I can post a pic, but it's gonna be huge.

Thanks

Bob

  • I will post a pic at around 400 to 600. I will post it and if it's huge or too small, I will edit and change the pixel number, and try it again until it looks right.

Look for a tee in the water line coming from the fresh water yank and the water pump. This will have a select valve installed. The line connected to this valve is short and not connected to anything just laying on the floor and will probably a stopper in the end of it.

This is the line that goes down inside the pink stuff container...

Should look something like this google photo

See if you got something like this around your water pump area...

  • Richard and Roy, Thanks. My pump has that clear plastic or glass over what I assume is a filter on the left side, like yours Roy, only my filter is on the bottom of the line. The pump is laying down. This brings me to another question. If I were to just put the RV antifreeze in the lines is there any need to blow out the lines before adding the antifreeze? Assuming all water is drained from the low point drains.

Did you find a clear plastic line that is about 3-feet long and does not connect to anything?

This google search pictorial is the idea of how it is suppose to work

MY pink anti-freeze line is laying on the floor between the RV water pump and the hot water heater unit. I just turn the valve and pull the stopper end of this 3-foot clear plastic line and stick it down the pink anti-freeze bottle - then turn on the water pump...

What did you find on your 2010 model...
