The 5.7 had many problems for lots of people but mine has been working great for ten years. It is an absolutely stellar performer - very quiet and strong. It has no problems with surge and it runs very slow and smooth under low flow conditions.
I honestly don't know that I'd recommend it though based on all the failures. OTOH, Shure Flow was always good about replacing them for the folks that did have issues.
