You're right...funny thread.
So far, approx. order, I'd dealt with Micky and Minnie, replaced an icemaker valve that I didn't think about when I winterized, unclogged the very high-priced toilet with the built-in macerator (nasty job! of course), replaced a temp sensor on the hot water heater that failed (ask DW how we found out there was no h/w...lol) and today, I think I'm going to go take the cover off the KingDome sat dish and resume troubleshooting why it can't "auto find" a satellite, even though it searches and searches, but if I manually point it, it works. GO figure.
How can you manually point a King Dome dish when it is inside a dome?
King Domes are very easy to operate. There are several tricks to the trade. If it is just turning round and round first run a switch test on each satellite. If that does not work then you have to look at your manual where it shows in what part of the country you are in and it shows how many degrees the dish should be pointed at and you do that by pressing on the of on switch as many times as the manual calls for to get the right angle.
Sometimes your receiver is also in a lock mode and you need to press the of on switch for five seconds to boot the system and your computer will reset.
Once you learn all these tricks, it does not take you long to figure which method to use.
Good luck
