I spent a little while re-organizing the RV's electronics. My MH is a 2000 model year -- all analog. So over time I've been dealing with conversion creep. A couple of summers I got a new DVD player and found I needed an RF modulator to make it work.
Then last June the DTV conversion came I had to get an analog--> digital box. Not a problem, you'd think, except that everything runs through the standard RV switcher box -- designed for analog systems.
I had to find a way to make them all had to sing off the same page. The switch box didn't cut it.
So last summer it took a lot of thinking, drawing a number of schematics and several trips to radio shack before I got it all sync'ed with the help of a switcher. So here I was, all proud of myself -- BUT ... I had those additional boxes crammed into one tiny little compartment, the DVD in the other, and I had to string cords back and forth.
So last fall, while I had other work done on the rig, I asked the shop to drill a large hole between two cabinets so I could spread the components/converters out a bit.
The end of the story (when WILL she get to the point?) is that I finally did just that. So now I don't have to leave the cabinet doors open all the time.
The end. Except that the back TV has to play the same TV program as the front unit. Maybe I could get a bedroom DTV converter ... but oh, that might mess up the schematic. Gotta think ... gotta think ...
