Today I reinstalled my Lippert Hydraulic pump assembly after having to take it out last week due to a leak in the pump seal that allowed hydraulic fluid to flood the motor.
That had left me with my slides extended at a campground over the Memorial Day weekend. We managed to get the slides back in manually and then limped home. I had removed the pump last weekend and rebuilt it with a new seal. The old one was loose and no wonder it leaked. I have found many others with this same problem with this particular pump.
Unfortunately, the motor was burned up pretty bad and the motor shop I took it to last week said that it was beyond repair. However, Lippert agreed to send me a new one under warranty (the coach was bought new last December) and I bolted that onto the repaired pump and reinstalled the unit.
Had a few problems getting the wiring just right, but with the help of another owner with the same coach who had done this repair last November, I finally got it done and the slides worked right on the first try! I ran them in and out a few times to get all the air out to the system and check for leaks, and it now looks like we are back in business.
