I've installed a ScanGauge also but have very little time to use it. I need to print out the full manual because I can't find the transmission temp on it so far.
I went out to the MH the other night, both battery banks were turned off, but there was the ScanGauge glowing in the dark. Obviously the switches on the control panel dont' control everything.
Bill,
If you scroll through the "Gauges" function, you find a function labeled "TFT". Selecting that will display your trans temps.
Since the ScanGauge is powered by the engine diagnostic port, it is powered by the engine batteries, not the house batteries. To prevent battery drain, simply unplug the cable at the back of the ScanGauge.
