Power washed eight plus years of crud from the roof to make ready for a roof coating sealer. Seams and roof penetrations were seal taped earlier this season.
Had to power wash the rest of the vehicle due to run off, dirt and dead paint. Came out ok.
Peace. ~RL

New enclosed trailer for the Harleys finally arrived. Now the're out of the weather, dirt and stones kicked up by the RV from the road, and out of site when we're off doing something else. I'll sleep better.

I installed Centramatic wheel balancers today.

On my previous camping trip, I noticed that I had developed an out-of-balance wheel somehow. It was noticeable but not too bad at 65 mph, but upon hitting the 70 mph speed limit in Pennsylvania...wowzers! That seems to be about the resonant frequency of the suspension.

During installation, I think I also found the cause of the imbalance. I discovered the mangled, decomposing remains of a bird (!) inside the inner passenger dually wheel. Apparently I need to add "check wheels for birds" to my pre-departure checklist.

Things were much better on the test drive after installation and corpse removal. It took me a little over two hours of quality time with a breaker bar, wheel chocks, bottle jack, and torque wrench to put them on.

Worked a bunch on Sunday after the trip to New Orleans.. it was a mess. Fixed the corner where I hit the post. Took a magic eraser to every spot the wash didn't take care of. Took the housing off and cleaned the AC, talk about brittle. I bet it had never been cleaned but wasn't bad. That's just 4 things out of a page to do.. and the wife's already talking about the next trip. I was going to take a couple month break.

I bought this 2002 Holiday Rambler 4 month ago. It had sat for 5 years after the PO got sick and then passed away. I have fixed or replaced almost everything from the front bumper to the rear bumper (I did replace the rear bumper) and from the A/C unit to the gas tank and everything in between.

We had it out 2 weeks ago for a quick 4 day trip and everything works great.

We made a punch list for additional needs.
Today we put blackout linings on the over cab curtains and put solar film on all the windows.

Bought a new bbq grill. A Cuisinart. Kinda neat. Can be used as a table top grill, or extend the legs to use as a stand alone grill.
The problem, its to tall to go into the storage compartment that I want it go into. I thought I wouls drill the pin out of the pivot of the hinge and put a pin back with a cotter key through it so it would not fall out. I looked at the hinge and to see what i needed to do, and the pin is already made to pull out. The pin has a hairpin type cotter pin through it. Kinda of small. Drop in once in the grass and its a goner. So I put a short piece of sash chain on it. The cotter pin will not come off the chain. So now I have to lose both the chain and pin together.
Now I can take the cover off and turn it upside down and nest it into the bottom and place the grill in the lid and it will store in the compartment I want it in. Wish all projects would go this easy

Does this count as doing something to my Class C today? Look at it with that far away look, waiting for the next trip out. In 2 weeks, probably a week ou tto Lazy Day CG, Montgomery City, MO. The weekend with the local chapter of the Good Sam club, The BugDuckers, then just hang around the park for a few days.

I added another 100 watts of solar to my 200 watts on the roof. This 100 will stay on the ground and I have an adjustable stand for it. It is hooked up to 50 feet of heavy wire with plugs on both ends. I can put it out in the sun when the rig is shaded and have some charging by moving it around. If all 300 is snorting, all the better.

After nearly 5 years the original group 27 house batteries (2), have expired. They had been reading low on the hydrometer for a year or more but kept getting the job done. Obviously we don't use much DC... but then most folks don't.

Got the best deal at Batteries Plus replacing the originals with two Exide pure deep cycles {not the so called dual purpose starting/wanta be deep cycles}, GP 27's for $100 each. I'll be cleaning up the cable ends and battery slide out tray with the standard baking soda/water mixture and installing them tomorrow as we are headed out for 4 days of dry camping on Monday. Probably won't even need to run the generator.

Installed new Microwave/stove vent on outside of MH. Design is such that no little locks are needed when traveling.

Changed out the 08 rear tires. Could of been ok for a couple more years but I figured if they blow on the way to our cruise I'll be murdered so $500 now doesn't sound so bad. Firestone would put them on for some reason but oh well Midway Ford does a better job anyways.

And go figure the step controller went out when I go home. lol the joys of owning a RV! Going to do a momentary switch for now.
