- holstein13ExplorerFreslang,
You have the model I'm very interested in. I tried sending you a a message to ask you about it, but your settings don't allow this.
I want to travel almost full-time with my wife, two kids and a nanny. Will this coach work for that? How do you like yours so far?
I can't find a single photo of the interior of this coach on the web. Do you know where I could find some photos? - LipetsExplorerThat engine can be programed for different HP ratings
- frelsangExploreralkillion, Thank you, I think we have the same color coach.
- alkillionExplorerCongratulations on your new Forza!

You think that it isn't enough, you should try a Detroit 6-71 (238 hp) pulling 80,000 lbs or a Cummins 250 pulling 135,000 lbs! When you've done that you know a 5.9 moving a 24k motorhome does a really fine job. But I must admit that I do envy the guys with those Cummins ISX engines!!! As a retired driver, I have never driven anything with that kind of power!!! Biggest power I've ever pulled with was a wore out 425 Cat.tiffinboy wrote:

I am looking at the new Winnebago Forza, see if anyone has the same engine, and want to know if this is a reliable engine, how about the speed and torque if GCWR is 33000lbs, GVWR is 27910lbs.
I know a fellow that bought a HR 3 years ago 36sh ft some slides and he,s extremely disappointed in the power especially pulling toad
its reliable but poor power for the weight.not on flats just when accessing mountain passes and steep hills
We have friends that had the same experience. The 6.7L is a fine engine, but not enough engine for 33k. - frelsangExplorerThanks for every reply and feedback, I'd made my decision, I wrote the check to the dealer this morning, it's down to bigger engine, bigger trans, need bigger
paycheck, The Forza 38R is the one we can afford and DW love the floor plan, I don't plan to do any drag race on the hwy, or like many said only 5% of our travels are climbing grades, I think I can live with that. - DSDP_DonExplorerfrelsang.....As many stated, it won't be a rocket, but on flat highways and small rolling hills you'll do fine. Climbing large hills it will struggle, especially towing, and you'll probably be limited to about 35-45 mph. The reality is that you most likely will only spend about 5% of your time or less climbing grades, unless you live out west. So for those few times you'll be climbing, you'll add a few minutes to your drive.
With all that said, I have only one concern about your choice. There are many kits for increasing power that can really make that engine run, but most of those kits are designed for the Allison 3000. We have friends with the Allison 2500 in a Monaco Caymann and they have been very disappointed in the fact that there haven't been any good power kits for that transmission. It just won't handle the increased torque.
Only you know if you're going to be satisfied with the power and torque, but if you're the type that is always wanting more power, this trans may be an issue. - Blaster_ManExplorer

We have friends that had the same experience. The 6.7L is a fine engine, but not enough engine for 33k. - okgcExplorerWe have that combination with same weight and have found great fuel mileage with enough power for our needs.
On I-70 in Colorado we were passing trucks going up to the Eisenhower Tunnel. About 44mph at the top towing our HHR. - randallbExplorerI had an 08 HR with 26,000 GCWR. We full timed for almost two years, pulled 3,000 pounds and had no problems. We kept our house in LA and made it to all 4 corners of the country looking for our retirement location. During this period we had no problems maintaining speed on I-40, I-5, I-94 or any of the 2 laners we traveled all over the east. We came up out of Phoenix headed to San Diego on a 100 degree day and never dropped below 65 MPH pulling my empty 7 X 18 trailer. The ECM is programmed to keep torque limited on take off and this relieves stress on the transmission, driveshaft and rear end. It is a very well thought out combination. We averaged around 9.0 MPG over the 36,000 miles we ran the RV prior to selling. Empty, I made it from Dandridge, TN to Lazy Days in Seffner, FL on a single tank. I prayed it would not run out of fuel when I missed the turn in to LD. It did not and I was pleasantly surprised. With side trips to CGs I added about 50 miles to the trip.
