Customer service at it's finest! Problems with the bags I can understand, but NOT telling the passengers is poor, poor, poor service.

I hate flying. I flew all over the world during my AF career and if something bad is going to happen it usually happens to me. My luggage has been lost numerous time. Items were stolen out of my luggage (thanks TSA). I was caught up in a 2 hour security check and missed my plane. My plane was diverted and I spent 24 hours in St Louis Airport once. My plane was delayed because of a blizzard and I spent 24 hours at O'Hare once. The first plane I ever flew on had a major mechanical malfunction and had to return to O'Hare. The first Helicopter I ever flew on crashed. I was in line to take off from Charlotte when the plane in front of us crashed next to the runway. I was travelling for work when 9/11 happened and had to rent a car in California and drive to Florida. In addition, I have 5 dogs and if I have to evacuate for a hurricane I need somewhere for them to stay.That's why I own an RV.

We were done with flying after 9-11... Nothing like an RV trip anyway. Sit back, take in views, visit funky places, visit local culture, learn about all kinds of history.... Awesomeness.

For me it's just another toy. We still fly because many places we go the rv just can't get you there.

Why we own a mh. We know who slept in the bed last night and when we're driving down the highway and I feel like a fresh hot cup of coffee I start up the generator and ask DW to plug in the kuerig and in a minute and a half I'm enjoying my coffee as we continue down the highway.

We are in the same boat as a lot of the posters here. Flying is so much trouble unless you just have to be somewhere quick. Before 9-11-01, flying was fairly pleasant.

We take the car if we can't take the coach. Flying is for emergency's only.

My last couple of jobs required frequent flights. I would fly to a site on Monday, work Tuesday-Thursday, Fly home of Friday and spend the weekend writing reports and making reservations for the following week. I finally insisted that they let me drive if the work site was within 600 miles. I hated flying because it was difficult to change reservations if you finished early or went longer than anticipated. We had to get to the airport at least two hours prior to the flight in order to be somewhat sure that we wouldn't get delayed in security and miss our flight.

I traveled for a living for 6 solid years. Leaving Sunday evening and returning (if I was lucky) on Friday evening. Lots of good and bad experiences during that time including 3 emergency landings and 9/11.

I am much happier traveling in my coach than flying coach.

Flying? "Nevermore quoth the Raven, nevermore". After going through a bad air pocket drop on my first of three return trips from Asia in December of '68 and two from Europe, I never regained the enjoyment of flying and hearing my brother, who works for a big timeshare, talk about the bed bug problems in hotel/motel chains, I only travel by RV.

( to be politically correct :E)

is because of the time we were traveling with the very young grandkids
stopped at a fuelstop, then took them inside to Burger King.

The granddaughter said " Gma I have to go potty", and off they go
to the 30 person deep line.

I walk up to DW and whispered " Why are you waiting in this line, when you have your own private potty right outside?"
