I have a 2003 Winnebago Itasca which I believe has the same slide out. Last February I had problem with it not working properly. I removed the outside square cover on the side that wasn't working. What I found if I remember right was a tube held in place by a pin on each side. The pins were pushed out of place. I had to take it apart and straighten and re-weld the bracket.
