Winnie Brave 31RQ Tire Size

Had an outside rear tread separation and noticed that the 6 tires on the vehicle are LT235/85R16s and the spare is a LT215/85R16. Apparently the previous owner opted to go upgrade to the larger size, but wondering if that's advisable. I think the ride would be not as good with the lesser size, but wondering if anyone else out there has had a similar decision to make. I'm looking to replace all 6 so I want to make the best choice before investing the big bucks for replacement. And what about brand of tires? They'll dry rot before I ever touch the tread @ about 2,000 miles per year, so does brand make that much difference? Thanks
  • Thanks for your quick reply. Do you know if your dual tires "kiss" one another, meaning some oversized tires touch each other at the bottom where they tend to spread out from the weight of the vehicle. I'm told if they do "kiss", that this will prematurely wear out or weaken the sidewalls.
  • We changed to a larger tire size on our MH and have not regretted it. I like the extra margin of safety a larger tire provides in CCC. Sailun is the only Chinese tire that I would recommend. Toyo and Hankook good tires at a reasonable price. Then you have the more expensive name brand tires which are also good if you want to through money for the name of the tire. We put Sailun S737s on our MH and they are really good. Unfortunately they do not come in a 16 inch size. My point being, if you find Sailuns, they should be your least expensive tire and you will not have problems with them.
