Beautiful area! Never enough time. Wildlife every time we have been there. Don't forget to drive the Beartooth Pass Highway. In the summer time you will go from very warm temperatures to snow on the ground. Never disappoints and the view is unbelievable! Just make sure your equipment is good, especially on the way down the other side:) Read up on it and I bet you add it to your list if you are anywhere close by.

Keep in mind that there are (2) Colter Bay places - one is a RV park with full hookups and next door is the campground with no hookups.

The campground is $23 or $11.50 if you have the Senior Pass.
The RV park is $67 or $55 with the Senior Pass.

This is a great place to stay....for Teton National Park. However, I really would advise, if you could, to move to Yellowstone itself for touring Yellowstone. Otherwise, you're going to have a LOT of driving each day. Plus, a portion of that daily drive is from the south entrance and there's not a lot to do or see in that part. It's beautiful and you'd probably see critters as you're driving through but there aren't the major park activities in that section.

Most beautiful place that I ever been too! Last time I was there we entered thru the North entrance Livingston, MT. off I-90 and it was in mid October with all the Fall colors.

Take I80 west to Rock Springs, WY and then go north on US 191 right into the south end of the town of Jackson. See what you wish in Jackson Hole ( Grand Teton NP) and when tired head north again on US89 right into the south entrance of Yellowstone.

My preference is to go thru the park and stay at Grizzly RV park out the west gate in the town of West Yellowstone.

The North entrance through Garnier is pretty drama free (in various trucks and cars with no RV), and the West entrance is a pretty easy drive, too, with the same assortment of various trucks and cars. The South entrance from Grand Teton is pretty easy, too.The East and Northeast entrances could be a little challenging in a big MH, IMHO.

Here is another choice of camp ground while visiting Yellowstone.
Henrys Lake State Park in Idaho. Only 15 miles west of the west gate. No thrashing around with park traffic in the MH. Gorgeous setting, with full hook ups at most sites.

It wasn't clear to me whether you have a toad. If not, you will definitely want to rent a car with which to tour Yellowstone. Assuming there is a site at Grizzly RV in West Yellowstone for when you want to be there, you can leave the MH there, rent a car in West Yellowstone for the duration of your stay, and take day trips into YNP and even down thru GTNP to Jackson from there. They will be long days (8-10 hours or so, roundtrip) but plenty to see! Allow at least 4 full days for the combination of both parks; more is better.

Ken....You didn't say where you plan to stay when at Yellowstone. If you haven't already booked it, Fishing Bridge (my favorite) in the center of the park is probably sold out.

Grizzly campground at the west entrance is probably the next best choice. All of this depends on how long your staying. Last time we were there we stayed at Fishing Bridge and drove down to Jackson Hole and the Tetons. We did 500 miles while staying at Fishing Bridge.

Coulter Bay in the Tetons is another nice place, but again, it may be tough to get a spot for a 40' now.
