Camp Chef Explorer System

A few months back, I took on the mission of finding a better camp stove/grill arrangement. Any of the small portable propane cylinder-type units just, quite frankly, sucked. The one we had sucked, and the reviews on Amazon for other units were so hit or miss unless you were willing to spend big bucks. We do almost all of our cooking outside, which often time includes larger meals for multiple families.

I ended up deciding to go with the Camp Chef Explorer 2 burner unit with the grill box (hinged lid).

Camp Chef Explorer

Now that we have a 9 day trip under our belts, using this thing almost daily, I'm happy to give it a very high rating due to our complete satisfaction. We bought the cover and carrying case as well, which helps it fit nicely in the front storage area of our rig. Setup/takedown is only about a minute. I will be adding the side tables in the near future, as that's the only thing it needs to be a completely perfect setup.

We spent a little more than what a highly-rated small portable grill would have cost, but we also got tremendously more bang for our buck.

Yep, they're good.

I've had several of them, like Goldilocks, I had a single, double and triple and back to a double with the grill and the box w/side panels

It can get a little hot on the direct burner, so I either just put it on the grill or use a heat disperser...

I'm solo, so getting it all out while quick, it's easier for me to just use the Charbroil small bbq and that works out great. I use a 11lb propane tank for the little one and have an extra 30lb (back up for camper propane) for the Camp Chef...

All good ones..

and next on the list is the prep area.. (for groups)
