Crock Pot Alcoholic Punch Suggestion?

Anyone have a good warm punch they serve during the Holiday season? I know I can do apple cider with brandy, but I wanted to try something other than cider.

Hot chocolate?

I found a recipe for cranberry juice and peach Schnapps that looks promising.

Any personal favs?

Thanks everyone.

I decided on a warm cranberry punch, garnished with orange slices, fresh cranberries and mint. Then people can add peach schnapps to taste (it's what I have on hand).

Second night - hot chocolate with:
- peppermint whipped cream
- orange dream whipped cream
- toasted coconut whipped cream

Assorted alcohol to taste.

Plus plain whipped cream and sprinkles for the kids.

Sigh - I don't have any Bailey's. I don't really like it (shhh - don't tell anyone) LOL. But I can also make a Bailey's whipped cream, so I guess I need to get some. I have the whiskey and some brandy.

I always liked that as a Hot Irish Chocolate

1ยฝ ounces Irish whiskey
1 ounce Irish cream liqueur (Baileys)
Hot chocolate to fill mug.
Whipped cream for topping.

Haven't had that in a while and I have a desert trip in two weeks. Nights are going to be cold, gonna have to go buy some ingredients. ๐Ÿ™‚

Glรผhwein (German hot mulled wine)

This is an actual German recipe, translated:

1 bottle dry red wine (750 ml)
1 lemon
2 sticks cinnamon
3 cloves
3 tablespoons sugar
Cardamom (or ginger)

Heat the red wine in a pot (don't boil). Cut the lemon into slices and add to the wine. Then add the cinnamon, cloves, sugar and a little cardamom (to taste). Heat everything for about 5 minutes - do not boil - and let stand for about an hour. Before serving, reheat and strain, keep warm in a crockpot. Serve in prewarmed glasses or mugs.

Serves 2-3.

I've made this in large quantities in our crockpot, without the stovetop work. It tastes just fine.

Glugg. There are a lot of recipes online for it, but I like the one from cooks.com.

1 1/2 lb. raisins
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon bark
1 tbsp. cloves
2 doz. cardamom seeds, shell & all
1 gal. red burgundy
Bottle of brandy
Combine first 5 ingredients and cover with water. Simmer for 2 hours. Add wine and keep at 160 degrees for 2 hours. Let stand overnight and strain. To use, reheat, add 1 shot of brandy per mug and drink. People in Minnesota are known to expose themselves to the cold just as an excuse to drink this brew.
