Crock Pot Pasta Meal

Crock pot pasta meal

1 lb. hamburger, browned
8 oz. small shells, cooked
1 qt. spaghetti sauce
2 cans of mushrooms (4 oz.)
8 oz. Provolone cheese, sliced
1 pt. sour cream
8 oz. Mozzarella cheese

Combine hamburger, cooked shells, mushrooms and spaghetti sauce and place 1/2 in pot. Top with sliced Provolone cheese, spread with sour cream. Put rest of hamburger mixture on top of Provolone and end with Mozzarella cheese. Cook on Low 5-6 hours.

This is the original recipe but I double the shells and the sauce and leave everything else the same.

I used the 24 oz jars of traditional Prego. I don't generally use this kind of sauce but for some reason it just tastes really good in this.

I have made this for years and recently took it to a group camping event and it was a real hit.
  • Just printed the recipe. Sounds delicious! Thanks.
  • I have saved your recipe and I definitely will be making it. Thanks for sharing.
  • Pasta does not become mush. Cook it al dente, like you would for any other casserole using pasta. Low on the crock pot would not allow for this to become hot enough to melt the cold cheese and get the dish hot.

Half our in the oven would work fine.
  • I think I would put the pasta in about a half hour before serving. It should keep the pasta from becoming mush.JMO
  • It melts the cheese and infuses the sauce into the pasta and heats it up. Just what it is called. I usually just use a small roaster and heat it. If you have to go someplace and want dinner when you get back, make it late morning and have a hot supper waiting for you.

Have even baked it in a 9x13 dish in the oven. terry
  • Curious why it is a crock pot meal since everything is already cooked.
