Don't you just love acronyms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :R - BzeithamExplorerDO = Dutch Oven. Sure as long as you can control the temperature(s) you need.
- naturistNomadI'm no lawyer, but I don't believe there are any laws against it anywhere in the continental US. Now maybe in Canada or Alaska . . . .
Will it work? I wouldn't know why not. - magnusfideExplorer IIYes, you can. Just don't get the iron red hot. Let it cool off naturally, no cold liquids.
I have 30,000 btu burners and my CI DO does fine. - billkaufmannExplorer

I thought someone was barbequing DOs. :B - Super_DaveExplorerIf it is supposed to be a long dutch oven cook, I'd think indirect heat so you don't burn the bottom of your food. Otherwise, cast iron cooks over open flame all the time with no problems.
- Ron3rdExplorer IIINo problem using the DO on the BBQ. I even put my big Le Creuset on the Weber Gas BBQ from time to time, which is basically the same thing but enameled.
- Wishbone51ExplorerI use my camping DO on my gas stove at home and in the RV all the time.
