I have just used the accessory “Stainless Steel Colander, Steamer, Crab & Pasta Cooker” to steam mussels. One thing is for sure, Magma doesn’t design for a price point, but for quality and use.
The steamer has a lip that fits tightly on the rim of the 5 quart stock pot and keeps the bottom of the steamer about an inch off the bottom of the stock pot.
The stock pot lid then makes a tight fit to the top of the steamer. All of the steam comes up through the steamer basket and none around it. The space below the steamer holds about 3 cups of liquid. This makes the finest steamer basket I have ever used or seen.
