Anyone try one of these yet? They are fairly new to the market I think.

You can slow cook, roast, make one-pot meals, and steam bake. I'm not usually taken in by these informercials, but this looked interesting.

Mine did not come with a travel case, although one was shown on the infomercial. I complained and they agreed to send me one free of charge. Without the travel case I would have returned it. Just kind of keeps everything together.

I was going to get a crockpot, but this seemed like a good alternative. It isn't small, but I'm sure I can find a place to tuck it away.

If anyone has any experience with this, I'd be interested in hearing. I'll post my experiences with it as well.

Grumpy- I love this forum BUT it is annoying whenever you post a specific question/comment about a certain product and people that have no experience with it, feel qualified to give their opinion on it. Oh well, it could be worse. Anyhow, I have other Ninja products and felt they were well made. This cooking system looks very promising. The other websites, (WalMart and BB&B) have it cheaper and the reviews are good. Let us know if you like it!

Sadly, as with many posts it does not take long, before it goes off topic. The question was has anyone tried the cooker? I noticed a lot of opinions but not one person who tried it. Again please, has anyone tried it?
They sell for $149.00 at Bj's and Walmart. I would like to buy one before I leave DE, in Nov, because there is no sales tax. As far as being a glorified crockpot, the claim is: that it sautes, sears, slow cooks, and cooks faster like in a convection oven, but with steam.
I know they sell a lot of Ninja blender systems, and people swear by them. I am hoping someone has actually tried the cooker and lets us know, how they like the features, that to me are unique to the product unlike a slow cooker alone. I have the Hamilton Beach slowcooker, which is highly rated, but can not sear in it, and it also does not have the cooking fast and with steam. I also had a Westbend, slowcooker, which the pot was removable to sear on the stove, but known of these have the feature of the "cooking system".,:@

You know what? You're absolutely right! I'll never buy a Chevy because they advertise on TV... oh wait..

I'll never buy a Ford because they advertise on... Oh wait...

I'll never buy a Dodge because...

Are you nuts?

Be sure never to buy something that someone advertises.

Just looked at Canadian Tire where we bought the other Ninja products and it is on sale for 25% off at the moment. I am sure it may even get better closer to Christmas when the other items seem to be more off.

That's a great price, but it doesn't include the same things as the US offer. Also the US offer has a 5 year warranty. Some things aren't always equal.

We have 2 sets of their chopper product and have had for a couple of years. Wife bought first one for the house then had to have another for the trailer. If it is like their other product they go on sale for 50-60% off quite often so may be worth waiting at that price assuming it is a good piece of equipment.

Hi,

I can sear with my Rival elliptical pot. It has a thermostat and can be set for 425 F.

Oh, wow! I guess I'm behind the times. With me having so much trouble walking, I don't get out to just browse any more. The crock pot I use, I received as a gift back in 1980. I got a new one several years ago, but that one just does not cook like the older one. They are both Rival.

What I end up doing is cooking in the old one, and if I am going someplace, transfer it to the new one, to serve in as it looks nicer than the old beat up pot.

I have a presto Multi-cooker that I bought at Walmart for 19.88 many years ago. They are now 24.88 I think the last time I saw it. You can do everything in it. You might like this but I think the price is kind of high.

Well, the good news is, it can be returned within 60 days if it turns out to be unsatisfactory.

My first impression was that it was a glorified crock pot. I watched the video clip. One thing that intrigued me was that you can sear in it. I always sear the meat before I throw it in the crock pot. I think it adds more flavor. In this thing, you can sear it right in the unit, so less clean up.

Let us know what you think after you test drive it.

I got one of those NuWave cookers for Christmas. I used it twice and it's in the box. I was not impressed with it. Maybe I'm too stupid, I don't know.:?
