I use mine a lot. As far as lighting it I don't have a problem. As one poster said just turn it on to whatever temp you need and stick your gas grill lighter in and you're set to go.
You can go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy a unglazed tile to put in oven to keep stuff from burning.
