Swordfish recipe?

Anyone have a tried and true Baked swordfish recipe? I saw a couple of steaks that I couldn't pass up. Looking for a new recipe... must be cooked indoors.

thanks

  • You're very welcome. Now I have to break out the fish sticks :W
  • Good for you and now you know at least 2 new ways to bake it:).
  • I had 2 nice sized steaks, so I made them 2 ways.

    1. I did the soy sauce, brown sugar, dried mustard - my DH preferred this one.

    2. I diced mushrooms, tomatoes, onion, garlic, and green olives (would have preferred Kalamata, but was out). Seasoned and tossed in olive oil. put over the steak and foil wrapped. baked in oven. I was going for a Mediterranean flavor. This was my preference.

    thanks for the suggestions
  • Partially cook 4 slices of bacon leaving them limp. Wrap around the steaks. Sprinkle with spices of your choice and broil until just done.
  • Saute about 2/3-1 cup chopped onions in olive oil over medium heat. When the onions are translucent w/ a small amt of colour, add minced garlic to taste. For say 2 steaks I use 2 nice sized cloves If I've 4 steaks I only use 3 cloves. Add 1 large can (28 oz) of your favourite peeled plum tomatoes that you've smushed by hand. Add approx. 1/4 of a bunch of coarsely chopped parsley and mix into the sauce. Allow to cook down until liquid is almost halved. Should you over cook the sauce just add a bit of wine or water. Salt and pepper the steaks to taste and place atop of the sauce. Drizzle about..1 TB of olive oil atop the fish. Place in pre heated 400 degree oven for about 10 mins or until a knife/fork goes thru the fish with ease. Serve.
  • Here's what I use for oven baked swordfish: Sprinkle each fillet with soy sauce, then rub in brown sugar and a dash of dried mustard. Bake to desired doneness. So simple, but so tasty.
