Tamales in New Enland?

We are going to be in the Southern part of New Hampshire for the holidays and wondering if anyone knows where we can buy some tamales (typical- not from a can) in the area. Springfield MA is an option If not, does anyone have a recipe. And what would you serve with them. I'm thinking sliced jicama or a jicama salad.
  • Grocery store deli dept, maybe...
    Check local Mexican food restaurant.
    Make them...youtube.

Lots of work there. Did that with mil one year. Try a Mexican restaurant and see if they'll sell you some.
  • I'd say to do a day trip fer the holidays:D.

Drive down I-95 to exit 46/Long Wharf (CT) to the Mexican food trucks. These are my 3 favs: Nexcalli, Ixtapa, and the "Mexican Food" truck.
The black truck ( Nexcalli?) sells tamales during the holiday season well at least they did 2 years back. You can check the FB pages of the trucks to see when they sell em.
  • My Mexican daughter in law makes them and sends them to me shipped in dry ice. Is there anyone at home who could go to your favorite tamale spot and ship some to you?

Your DIL must be an angel!
We know how labor intensive GOOD homemade tomaaalies are.
Forgive my spelling of tamales as my taste buds overtook.

    Hullo hullo and totally agreed!
Her DIL is a saint and GOOD tamales are labour intensive.
As much as I love cooking and South and North American versions of tamales I've never tried making em.
