I never had trouble using the oven in our 5er, but it seems like it was bigger than the one in our TC. In this oven, every time I bake biscuits, they burn on the bottom. I use a rectangular Pampered Chef stone. I've never had an issue before this oven. Is it because of the size? Any suggestions? Do I need to bake at lower temps than suggested? I haven't baked anything in it lately because of the latest results. It's annoying. I think it may be a 19" oven. I have it, I want to use it.

Do you preheat? Check the temp (with a thermometer) too.

My daughter had the same issue with our stove in the FW. She turned down the heat and then flipped the cookies half way through. These ovens are compact and heat up fast. I'd suggest cooking at 300 instead of 350.....and watch carefully!

Use Air Bake pans and you will never have burnt bottoms again.

Get an oven thermometer and make sure it reaches desired temperature. I also have a pizza stone underneath, no problems since I did these things.

I consider myself an experienced cook/baker. I've used all kinds of ovens and heat sources. I do NOT use the RV oven. I think they are too small, too hot, too dry, need I go on. I use them to store my cast iron, (wrapped in bubble-wrap with a bungee holding the door shut). I cook outside the RV, with a variety of grills, smokers, and appliances.

I have no problems in my TC oven and use both a stone and an air bake cookie sheet.

Get an oven thermometer and put it in the oven.

Set the oven temp control for 350°F and observe the thermometer.

The main burner should go off when the thermometer indicates 350°.

If the burner shuts off at any other temperature, the control needs to be calibrated. There is a screwdriver adjustment on the control for this purpose.
The adjuster can be accessed on some stoves by removing the knob; on others you have to lift up the stove top.

When we bake biscuits, we always flip them over half way through the baking cycle. They brown on both the top and the bottom that way and taste great.
