32 inch Insignia Roku TV

Hi all,

I recently bought an RV that has a 32" Insignia Roku TV in the living room.

It also has a 22" Insignia TV in the Bedroom and a 22" Insignia TV accessible on the outside, behind the passenger seat.

The Cable Input is on the drivers side near the water and shore power connections.

I buzzed out the 50' cable and found continuity on the center conductor, but not on the shield. I bought a new 50' RG-6 cable.

I can get cable TV in the BR, but not on the Insignia/Roku in the LR.

As a last resort, I connected the new cable from the cable jack on the RV Site Post DIRECTLY to the cable input on the back of the TV and when I select "Cable TV" I get a "No Signal, Is it on?" response.

I have been ALL through the settings and input selection settings, but still NO cable.

What am I missing???

Thanks

Tim
  • After you have the coax connected and you do the new channel scan, does it should that it is attempting to find Digital and Analog? Where is a "No Signal, is it on" message coming from? You said you connected the coax from the RV park connection directly to the "cable" input. I assume there is really only one input connection on the back of this TV which would be used for either OTA or Cable input.
Are you able to receive OTA TV programming on the television?
  • Home Depot sells a Klein Tools Coax Explorer Tester which you can use to check on a number of coax cables. It will help you decipher a number of conditions.
  • you have a NEW good tested cable

connected directly to the back of the TV

try a scan even though it says no signal

when in the menu settings look for a 'parental lock out'
the front TV would be accessible by children, the bedroom TV will not

IF no lock out and no scan,
    the TV is defective

I am not familiar with a ROKU TV setup... I am thinking this has to have an INTERNET DOWNSTREAMING CONNECTION to work???

Maybe the ROKU input will NOT work from a standard CABLE or ANTENNA TV INPUT????

    Just a thought here...

ADDED NOTE - Just downloaded the Operations manual and see that this is a actual HDTV as well... Just alot of buttons to push to get going it appears haha...

    Roy,

You may not have known the answer, BUT you made it possible for me to FIND the right answer.

I had looked at the PDF manual on-line, but I just scanned over it. It wasn't until I downloaded the PDF at the link that you sent and really READ it, that I figured out what to do.

On page 42, the manual states that all Over-The-Air AND CABLE channels are scanned under the ANTENNA TV button.

WHO KNEW that you had to go to the O-T-A Antenna to get Cable???

Anyway, I already had Netflix, Amazon Prime and a couple of other streaming channels locked in and scanned for channels again and now EVERYTHING works!!!

Thanks again for the PDF. I have saved it to my laptop AND my phone so I'll have it when I need it again.

  • Isn't the rocky on an hdmi input as opposed to a antenna hookup
  • In this case, The Roku
Is built into the the TV
It's software not external hardware add-on
