When I click on Facebook notifications, it goes to a comment a friend makes - like normal.BUut, when I respond to that comment, click, it posts. But when I try to leave that page, I keeps telling me "I haven't posted" and won't leave and go back to home page unless I power down PC and relaunch FB - can't figure out why it sticks on the page every time. Never did it until today.I've rebooted twice, same issue? Any advice? Thx M44

To keep from getting e-mail on services like this I usually put in a bogus e-mail address. As long as they don't try to verify the address and it matches the pattern of "xxx@yyy.zzz" it will pass their tests and then they can deal with the bounced e-mail they send to that address.

Just killing your web browser will be enough.Second, when you type in your response are you finishing up with a Carriage Return? If not then your comments aren't posted, they're still in edit mode. You can tell the difference because when you enter something it isn't tagged with your name at the start. This gets added when your response is posted, i.e. after you've hit the Carriage Return.

When things get weird, clean out your cache.

Remember, on Facebook YOU are the product.

Some people don't have home phones, perhaps the younger folks are on Facebook more. I use FB Messenger to communicate with my daughter as she rarely picks up the actual phone.

Plus as others stated she posts pictures of my grandkids (yes, she does send me a few pictures too).

I get lots of "Friend Request"s from single girls in foreign countries.
Oh, and I get to read a lot of really bad mechanical advice. I hope that the people that get that ask a serious person.

Well, I rebooted everything and launched again - and it's back to "normal" ...

For those that asked: And those that answered: FB is a good media for keeping in touch with distant friends and family. Share photos and talk about family and
social events - keeping in touch. We only do family-friends via privacy settings, so we share nothing with anyone we don't want to share it.

Sometimes, on the "news feed" it gets a little whacky, but if you delete it, it never comes back. Like the political and fake news BS.

I keep up with some far-flung friends and family, more than I would otherwise. I look at pics of my friends' grandchildren and let them look at pics of mine. :D I have ALL my privacy settings on "Friends Only" so the pics don't get spread around.

There are useful groups like local buy/sell/trade, and special interest groups on all kinds of topics.

Many businesses have FB pages, even if they don't have web sites, and it makes it easy to look up their address, phone, hours, menu, etc.
