Another Unsatisfied CW Online Customer

Well, contrary to the suggestion of so many others here to avoid ordering anything online from CW...I went and did it anyway and now you can add me to the long list of unsatisfied customers. Ordered a spare tire cover on 5/24/15 from the CW website. Received an email a couple days later indicating that the item was "backordered" and there would be a 4 to 6 week delay. In the past 2 weeks, I have sent two emails inquiring about the status of the order using the email link on the CW website where it says "Need help with this order?" and....you guessed it...no response whatsoever. Now granted, it is now 7/1/15 and still a couple days shy of 6 weeks and I really don't even have a beef with the fact that the item is backordered. And, to be fair, it doesn't appear that they have charged me for the item yet. What fries me is the complete lack of a response to an inquiry about an order. And I refuse to call their customer service number only to be placed on hold for 20 minutes or more at a time. Oh well, my own fault for disregarding the advice of others. Guess I'll just be patient and wait to see if it shows up on my doorstep someday. Lesson learned - will stick to good ole' Amazon from now on...never had a problem with them. That's my rant. I feel a little better now. :)

It's still in business because people, even after reading all the posts here and on other forums (there are others) about bad service, still continue to buy and order from them.
There are those who will buy from them, even if the item can be purchased for less, and returned with little or no problem, simply because that's where they've always gone.
I've found almost anything CW sells can be purchased for less via Amazon and other distributors, many with free shipping (even for items that cost only a few bucks) and a no hassle return policy.
CWis privately owned, and still doing business as if it were the 1980's.
I've seen others post that they don't or refuse to buy from Amazon because they've become a "big box" type outfit. So what!!! If one can buy an item, listed at CW for $350, but get it at Amazon for $275, why wouldn't you.
At least with the govt., you can get rid of the fluff and whomever every 4 years. CW is what it is, and as long as people support it, will continue to do "business as usual"

  • Thanks for posting.

I bought something over the weekend and wanted another item but they were out.

Asked employee if she thought item would come in soon.

She said I could order on-line.

A Big light went off in my head...NO WAY after reading all the problems.

If people didn't post I wouldn't of known to stay away from them.

    Again thanks for posting.
  • I swear camping world was purchased by the United States government it's the only explanation as to why a company this bad is still in business.
