Or just purchase a PL kit and forget all the hassles. - colonelcortoExplorerjust pull the cat 5 and get it over with...
- AMOS33ExplorerMy understanding is that it is on the 20A breaker so it's not a problem at all. Although there is a max distance but that will depend upon the device used.
Here is an update: What I have discovered is that it makes no difference if your rig is 50A or 30A, becuase you still have 110V plugs in your RV.
Of course the key to all this is how the PLC system is setup for a RV Park.
Just today, I asked a user "How did you find the PLC device working for you?" His response was "It is immediate and fast and I love it"
No matter what the naysayers say, I goes far beyond Wifi.
Example from my own test is Wifi download 1.3 Mb/s but PL download is 10:45 Mb/s
As to the nonsense about the FCC, that is total nonsense and 'fake news' - AMOS33Explorer

Ah, there's a wrinkle I hadn't thought of - my rig is 50A. Does that mean that for a signal from one leg to reach the other leg it will have to go out to the post, through the breaker and back again? That might cause issues?
Interesting question. Suppose I check it out and report back? My rig is 30A so I will find a neighbor with a 50A and report back here. - AMOS33ExplorerNo problems at all. In fact it is the best solution possible. Let me know if you are still interested, because it beats Wifi hands down.

I also need to see proof . It would be strange for FCC to approve these devices for sale and FAA confiscates them for using them within 25 miles of Aurora, IL .
They are not "approved" by the FCC they are "type accepted".
They are very plainly marked "--- shall not cause interference ---".
"Chicago Center" is located in Aurora, IL and they are responsible for communicating with all aircraft within radio range. On HF radio, that frequently means all international flights between Lon 0° and Lon 180°.
If your insidious "toy" is interfering with those communications, you are guilty of numerous violations of the international radio laws. - Captain_ObviousExplorerMy understanding is you cannot cross phases with those powerline adapters. So yes, if you have a 50A trailer, it may limit which outlets will see the signal.

- RoyBExplorer IIChooChoo - All of these LED lights that have BUCK BOOST regulators emit RFI that causes interference with the RV television sets, NOAH WX alert radios, some reports of FM radios but I didn't see any of that here. Of course my VHF/UHF Ham radio net frequencies were hit as well.
I was real proud of first setup using all medium dollar LED fixures throughout my OFF-ROAD POPUP. I was good until we went on ALERT for a few days and way back in the woods running emergency radio communications relays from one side of the mountain to the next valley. I went dead in the water when darkness approached and had to start turning on my new LED lights... Everything quit on me haha... Finally realized it was the new LED LIGHTS so quickly switched to good ole flashlights and also had some 120VAC incandescent lamps with us.
I had to switch out all of LED LIGHTS for the cheap one from Ebay/China that did not use the built-in regulators. Things were fine after that. Just cost me a couple of hundred of dollars giving away all of my high dollar boards.
All of these LED BOARDS are FCC APPROVED so you can't complain to the LED manufacturers. They all meet the FCC specifications...
I'm still using my cheap ebay/china $4.99 boards in my off-road POPUP trailer.
I suspect the same thing applies with the BPL and FAA on some of those devices currently in use.
Roy Ken - TurnThePageExplorerI have a hard time getting them to work reliably within my home, and have yet to succeed getting them to work in my trailer in the backyard. I'm guessing the circuit breakers in between are to blame maybe. I'm experimenting with various repeater strategies right now.
