AXESS TV

Considering buying an AXESS 19" ac/dc LED TV with built-in DVD. Only $126. Many of the reviews don't speak well of the DVD option. Any here have experience with the AXESS brand? Would another brand perhaps be better? Built-in DVD is a must.

just curious...why must it be a built-in DVD? if either the TV or DVD goes toes up you're looking at either a repair or replacement. in my experience and circle of friends the odds are the DVD will go bad.

yep, but for a large investment of $126 no big gamble.

Travel alone and mostly dry camp. DVD for those long rainy days. If the DVD player is the weak point, then brand doesn't really matter. Just thought I'd get some input about built-in DVDs.

Like Bumpyroad said, $126 no big gamble.

  • Well I don't think it is just Axess, tv/dvd combo sets are known to have issues at times with their dvd players. Reviews on Amazon shows this unit is about as good as any similar products. From my experience, as we have a 32" Sharp combo unit, is that at times the disc won't load properly. Usually ejecting and re-inserting will allow disc to seat properly.

We found it best to not leave disc in unit, particularly if we are planning to move on down the road. All that shaking could dislodge disc causing it to possibly malfunction when attempting to eject. By the way, that is a good price, maybe pay a few dollars more for the extended warranty if one is offered, peace of mind for at least a couple of years.
