Bluetooth Incompatibility Any Gurus Have Advice?

When I go north I am going to pick up some USB Bluetooth gizmos for my old Gateway laptop. But I was warned by the gift-giver to not assume they will work with all Bluetooth devices. A slow connection stops me from extensive web searching. I was hoping to get a little (additional) advice and tips. I am hoping to get a set of wireless over-the-ear headphones after I save up. On-ear headphones torture my ears and ear buds for me rank right up there with shackles on the wall and stretching racks.

I think the biggest thing that interfered with mass adoption of 3D
Was that it was not included when HD broadcast made the change over
People bought new tv's, the Mfg offered 3D after people had already bought new tv's, and people weren't ready to spend cash , all over again

Second was the competing 3d tv's formats and glasses type, like the war between beta and vhs, or HD disc verus Blu Ray

But I do like my cellphone VR, it is greatly immersive, you cant see the room your in only the 3D in front of your eyes

Movies are still being released in 3D format on Blu Ray and in theaters
Mfg have bust quit making 3D capable tv's
If you have the 3D tv , you are still good to go , 3D Blu Ray players are still available, I bought a new LG player last year, just can't find a tv to go with it

But we are veering off topic, my bad
If any body else wants to discuss 3d , we can start a new thread
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

Figures I buy into 3d the year it's discontinued. Both Netflix and the local video shop dropped out of 3D.

The few I watched were awesome, really immersive. Don't know why it's not more popular.

All kinds of blue tooth ear buds, aka itty bitty ear phones for cheap prices

I bought a pair of wireless bt head phones at the 99 cent store a few months ago
For $2.99

Two weeks ago they had phone holding VR head sets for $4.99

I would have bought one, but I all ready have an identical set , I paid $15 for

Yes I like 3D movies and can't find a 3D tv
The Mfg have quit making them

I use BLUE TOOTH here between my cell phone and my truck phone... Links up as soon as i turn on the ignition key.

I also feed several of my radio scanners in my off-road trailer to a Blue Tooth transmitter inside the trailer and then I can walk around outside with a portable blue tooth speaker and listen to about four radio channels at the same time. I can get 50-feet or so before loosing the audio link. It too links up as soon as I turn it on...

Bluetooth has made a lot of advances the last few years. It was 1.x and then 2.x for a LONG time, then 3 and 4 shot up seemingly overnight.

3.x and 4.x are still "new", and in my experience only weird things use them, like sporting / fitness trackers, electronic keys, and some high end headphones use the newer protocols.

Basic stereo bluetooth audio uses a profile named A2DP and I believe there's one or two mono profiles before that, they've been around since the beginning.
