Camping World master catalog coupon

OK, I don't usually get on the bandwagon on what Camping World could do better, but they messed this one up. I received my master catalog the other day and have spent a bit of time thumbing through it. I have a list of needs for this spring and was thinking of placing an order somewhere soon. I noticed on the back of the catalog a coupon for $10.00 off ANY order! I thought cool, this could make the pricing close enough where I would make the order with Camping World. I wouldn't even mind if it was a bit more than some of the other sources. I tear off the coupon and look at the back. It says "Must present coupon at time of purchase. Must mail in coupon to redeem when ordering by phone or online". So how do you present the coupon when making an online order, I tried entering the coupon number on the ordering page, doesn't work. Where do you send it to, do you need a receipt, do they send you a check for $10.00, is it really $10.00 off on your next order? If I called would they give me the $10.00 off when I placed my order, if so why should then bother sending in the coupon. Why have to send in the coupon at all, you just need the number. Camping World, you have to make it EASY for me to make purchases! Bottom line is I haven't spent my $300 on my spring needs list yet, this could have been the trigger to do so, but now I am just irritated.

    they gave me a coupon like that when I renewed my membership, same thing no where to put the code and the code was not accepted - I placed the order over the phone and they sent me an address to mail the coupon to. I paid for the entire order, sent in the coupon as instructed and they gave me a credit on my credit card. I agree it would be easier to put the code in on the website but it was explained to me that they had too many people taking advantage of the code and using it multiple times.

    Good and Funny question at the same time. I had the same question but have not tried to use it. It had me "stumped" too. Whatever though, it's only good till April 12! After that it won't matter.

    The back of the coupon says:

    $10 off any purchase!
    Offer is not retroactive and cannot be used in combination with any other offer. Must present coupon at time of purchase. Any unused portion of this dollar amount cannot be exchanged for cash or used on a later transaction. Limit one per customer. Must mail coupon to redeem when ordering by phone or online. Valid on merchandise only. Expires April 12, 2015.

    CampingWorld has hands down the most ineffective web portal on the internet. They remind me of Radio Shacks practice of keeping their cash register as a wooden box slid under the counter in the 1980's and 1990's!!

    The one time I actually have a coupon!!! It doesn't work.!!!!

    I did an online order yesterday got all excited "I got a coupon for that!!!"

    YEAH.. RIGHT !!! It cost more then the $10 you save wasting the time getting your $10 coupon to work ... I'm done with CW... Amazon here I come!!!

    I used mine today in Jacksonville, Florida. No Problems made a purchase and

    gave the young lady the coupon and good SAMS card. she said people have been rolling in with the $10.00 coupon

    Camping world is a great company.

    Apart from the coupon .... I do like the photo of the Outback 5er on the front cover of the catalog. However, I'm not biased toward "Outbacks" at all. :B

Unfortunately the website does not accept coupons, but you can make your purchase online, get your order number, and call Camping World Customer Service at 1-800-626-5944 and the agents can direct you on where to mail your Certificate for the 10 dollar refund to your credit card. Or you can take your certificate to the nearest Camping World location for instant discount. Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Rudy, thanks for the clarification. It would have been a good idea to have that information on the coupon, it would have avoided the confusion. Also, having to make a phone call after ordering online defeats the whole purpose of online shopping. I shop online to make it easier and more convenient, not the other way around.

    I tossed mine. It had such a short time before it expired that it was useless to me.
    So if the idea behind it was to get me into the store sometime, it failed.
    If it had been good through at least part of the summer then I would have used it.
