$20 for unlimited data? Have I got that right? This is from the Canadian OnStar website. Nothing even close to what's being offered in USA. Maybe I'll give them a call and ask if I can get unlimited for $20US. HAHAHAHAHA
Monthly OnStar Data Plans with Overage Protection
Data plans include overage protection so you cannot go over your data allowance. Monthly data plans will expire at the end of 30 days, or after data is used, whichever occurs first. Monthly data plans will renew automatically every 30 days.
1 GB per month - $15.00 for 30 days
4 GB per month - $35.00 for 30 days
10 GB per month - $70.00 for 30 days
OnStar Data Pass
One-time data purchase packages,10 available by the day or the year.
250MB for one Day - $5.00/day
20GB for one year - $200.00 for 365 days
that is similar to the old data plan for onstar wifi that was offered in the U.S. Now the U.S. has the unlimited plan and maybe some other monthly plans. - joebedfordNomad II$20 for unlimited data? Is it just $20, or is it a $20 add-on to whatever they're charging for OnStar service?
it is either - $20 add on if you are paying for other service. I do not have Onstar service, but I was able to activate the date package :) - ktmrfsExplorer II

current onstar is GSM, they use ATT as a carrier for wifi and phone. - bob_nestorExplorer III

OnStar uses AT&T and I believe, if I've read all the information they sent me correctly, the unlimited data is an add-on.
You can get unlimited data on AT&T on any vehicle with an OBD-II directly from AT&T with their Mobley device for $20/mo. With the right power dongles you can run the Mobley off a USB connection or a 110v adapter as well. I've done both with mine. - GordonThreeExplorerWhat carrier does GM use? Sprint I think?
