Chrome vs Firefox?

I have been using Firefox for years...thinking of switching to Chrome.
Just asking what you use, what you like, any general likes or dislikes?

I use this one by Robert Sulkowski for Chrome. Works very well. Autoplay should be illegal, as well as telemarketing. I better stop-I feel a rant coming on 🙂

I've been using Firefox because it's the only browser I know that lets me stop videos from automatically playing when I open a page. If anyone knows a better solution I may adopt it, but so far I haven't found it. Browsers should never automatically play videos (which can burn a lot of bandwidth if metered). I have a mouse and I know how to click Play if I want to see the video.

Don't overlook Opera. In my own informal unscientific tests it was much faster than Firefox or Chrome. Last Pass works great with it as you can download a specific version for Opera.

I can't imagine how to reference all my bookmarks any easier. Are you familiar with the Chrome Bookmarks Manager? It allows what I would call a "bookmark tree setup similar to what I use on Firefox" that you say "Tiny Sidebar" does.

Had problems with ff and switched to edge. It solved the problems.

I used Firefox for many years but it has always had it's quirks. I now use Chrome and wish I made the change years ago. I will never recommend Firefox after using Chrome.

This is typically caused by an FF extension or plug-in that does not release its memory when not in use. Resulting in memory usage climbing to where FF can stop responding, or slowing down the system itself. Flash-container has been one culprit for me. It's an illusive issue. Some don't experience it. Others, like me have had to restart FF to clear the excessive use of memory resources. FF sometime using well over 1G of memory on one of my systems. Upgrading doesn't typically solve the issue.

I'm also seeing some incompatibility with the new Firefox on Windows OS. Vidyo enterprise being one not compatible. But then just use Chrome for those applications.

The one reason I prefer Firefox is that you can install its Profile folder anywhere. This allows me to place it inside an encrypted container (drive) on my systems, which protects stored passwords, history, bookmarks, config with strong encryption. You would have to have two-passwords to access it, both user account and container passwords which only need to be done once upon login. You can use a single password for both, but this just defeats the purpose.

You can also do this with Chrome, but not as straightforward as Firefox.

Why not just install both. I use Firefox and Chrome on all my systems, PC and MAC.

What are FF memory leaks? I'm serious. I'm satisfied with FireFox.

I have used FF for years. But lately I can no longer log into some of my bank sites with it.

I have to use IE to log into them. FF just goes around in a circle after log in, right back to log in etc.

I have been having Issues with Firefox so i switched to Chrome. Problems solved
