I'm getting fed up with Firefox too.... BUT I don't think I could switch to Chrome which is 'all things google'. I don't want google embedded in a my browser tracking, collecting and selling everything I input.
And most if not all alternatives are headed the same direction, Microsoft for sure with Edge and a Microsoft account and Microsoft cloud in their effort to be integrated like Google across all platforms.
There are certainly possible downsides to this knowledge that companies have about us, but I have yet to see one that out weighs the advantages. It's not like I have anything to hide or that isn't already known by my credit card company, Amazon, etc, etc.
If this bothers you, stay away from new technology. But you will be missing some really helpful applications.
I would agree. Google is far superior in many ways. Take for instance their voice search, which I use constantly. Anyone who says Siri or Bing can compete really hasn't used them all. The difference in power is so vast, that I feel Siri is for children, but Bing is just a few notches above Siri. We all have to be owned, either partly or in whole, by these tech companies. Who owns you is the one you spend the most time on. Most of us are owned by multiple tech companies. Even this site owns a little bit of me. It's a good thing.
