I don't know why that's a problem ? If you are a Good Sam member, you get a discount, period. It's been this way for 30 years. It works at supermarkets, gas stations, etc. what makes this different?

Rockhill: Even though I will never consider buying an RV from CW after my last attempt, I have a CW store 10 min from the house. Why drive 30 miles to another RV store just to stick it to CW? The gas alone completely offsets any discounts (and I have seen few) at the other place.

First problem was having to renew again to get the discount just upset over half the people who were current. This did more harm to the clubs membership drive than good.
Second what should have been very simple was made difficult because people "DO NOT read or like to read rules"!
Most important and repeat most important give all members some kind of discount! Members should have got 5% just for there membership support being active. Then new, renews, life and elite members 10%. Non-members would get nothing!
Simple works the best!!
