Is there a way to get TV audio to play through bluetooth headphones? Would a bluetooth dongle plugged into the usb connection work?

I agree with Dutch, but I don't actually connect to the TV as I use the optical output of our DirecTV Receiver because the optical output of the TV is connected to the Sound Bar, which I just turn off.

I use a small unit connected to the Optical output and converts it to Blue Tooth to work with my Hearing Aides. Seems would be very similar to work with Blue Tooth Head Phones.

Question for Michelle -- when connected to the optical audio out , does that kill your local TV speaker sound for others in the room?

I have a similar setup to Michelle's, and no the optical connection does not kill the local speakers. I can control my hearing aid volume independently of the TV volume including muting the TV without affecting my hearing aids.

Yes search for bluetooth audio transmitter for tv. Youโ€™ll find several. All with different input methods rca ( headphone Jack ) optical out etc and some for one connection out and some that can handle two separate audio devices ( two headphones) The usb out I would think depends on the tvโ€™s capabilities
