- Bill_SatelliteExplorer IISee your other duplicate post about that.
- filrupmarkExplorerI would like to thank each of you for your input. One more question before I purchase a dish setup. If we order with a SWM LNB I have to use a P121 power inserter, but when using the SWM I cannot use my sat finder ? . If I use a non SWM or the older style LNB I do not need the power supply and I can use my cheep sat finder ? I have a H24-700 HD receiver with a B band converter. Thanks,Mark
- Clay_LExplorerIf you are currently using a tripod be aware that it probably won't work with the new dish. The new dish uses a larger pipe. Also the dish is quite a bit larger.
This company sells tripods that are adjustable and of the right size HERE and a lot of people have posted that they were happy with the product and service. - 2oldmanExplorer IIIt's only hard the first 10 times you do it.
- Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIYou will only be looking for 99, 101 and 103. No other satellite (no 110 and no 119) will be in the mix. If you setup a tripod so your antenna is level and plumb and you point the antenna in the correct direction you will, by default, get all 3 satellites.
- ViewfinderExplorerStep one MUST be done or none of your settings matter. Look for 101 tp 19 or so and everyone will be happy. You will need a good tripod for the larger dish.
jim - PopsieExplorerNo.
There are three things to get right. One is to make sure the mast is vertical. Two is to adjust the elevation and skew to go with your current lat long. Three is to point the dish. If you get the first two correct, it just takes a little tweaking to get max signal strength by pointing in the right direction.
Having done steps one and two, I usually get signal strength in the high 90's within a minute or two.
