DirecTV Acct ONLY for RV?

Can't find anything searching the forum(s) so ....

Is it possible to open a DirecTV account ONLY for the RV?

I can't get a straight answer from DTV or their agents. All they want to do is sell me an entire house installation and then add on a receiver for the RV.

I have the Motosat antenna, controller and a DirecTV receiver already - all I need is an account. Used to piggyback on another account but that was closed.

    Sorry, maybe I was looking at the wrong number. I'll check it on Friday when I get back from San Diego.

    Yes, that is a DirecTV phone number. Is it any better? Only you can tell but it would be my recommendation that you call Dave. I am pretty sure the gal that answered the phone was not a US resident!

    The number I've found to call for RV saavy DirecTV techs is 1-800-769-4635. We have had DirecTV only in our RV since September 2014.

    You can also call Dave @ Sats2Go 281-564-2828 or start at his website http://www.sats2go.com/ . He specializes in RV installations and should be able to get you setup with everything you need and get the service activated. Tell him Bill A. told you to call!

    Winegard, who makes the RV rooftop DirecTV dish, is also a direct TV agent and knows all the loopholes. Give them a call . . .

    This is the exact opposite of what happened to me.

    Once DTV found out I had home service, they immediately cancelled my DNS. And they said I must buy both E and W service. They have no set policy.

    x2 I put the house on vacation when I am in the motor home 6 months of the year and visa versa

    I also have the DNS local channels in the MH you can have east or west coast - it is $15 per month

    We have a DirecTV account for our RV only. Call them direct during the week when their A team is working. We suspend it each year for the time we are not camping and activate when the season starts.

    I don't if you still can but I started my Direct TV account as a full timer in 2003 while in TX - motor home was where we lived. At that time my domicile was NH with only a UPS Store mail forwarding address. I later changed my domicile to SD and now to my house in CO.
    I bought the dish, receiver and tripod from Radio Shack and as I recall set the account up through them.
