I use Dish at the RV and have a Verizon aircard and a Cradlepoint router for my internet, and have been happy with it. The aircard is also use when at home since I don't use the wired telephone co. at home.

We tried satellite internet through Wildblue and it was as bad as dial-up. We had to pay $300 for the equipment and sign a contract for one year and it was $50/mo. Never again. I dropped it as soon as the year was up. And we live in the country, up on a hill, so should have gotten really good reception. A tech guy from DirecTV (had that before we switched to Dish) said satellite internet is a last resort if you can't get anything else. Of course, dial-up sucks too. We now have broadband wireless internet and love it.

You will find that Dish does not offer internet service but they do re-sell satellite internet services from a variety of providers. If you have used cable internet and move to satellite internet you are going to be very disappointed. If you don't have good internet service now (slow DSL or dial up) then satellite internet will feel pretty good.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

Ken,
The fastest speed dish offers is 10MBS which could generally be adequate but questionable if you play a lot of internet games, watch movies on your lap top etc etc., it depends on what your internet activities include. I am running 18 MBS with AT&T. Super fast! quick down loads.

Call DISH about their internet service and you will be informed this is for fixed locations and not mobile. You will need a second special open face antenna
to send and receive internet. DISH does not supply the internet service they will refer you to an outside company that does the internet service in your area.

I have Dish TV, but no internet package. We switched from Direct TV to Dish about 6 weeks ago and the install guys sold us on getting a dish for the camper and use one of the receivers in the house. Took it on the last 3 trips: Southern Indiana and Iowa. Worked great! However, In Iowa we could not get our local (Indianapolis) stations. But everything else was great! Very happy with Dish

Near Hubbard, Iowa:

[COLOR=]EDIT: The reason we did not take the internet package with Dish was because there was a limited bandwidth (something like 4 MB). Our Cell phones have virtually unlimited internet service and serves as a WIFI also. Since we already had the I-Phone WIFI and Internet set-up, and it is virtually unlimited, we choose not to go with the Dish Internet service ... although it was very tempting.

Cool.. I had no idea internet was available via the dish. The dish page indicated the speeds weren't too good.

Had Dish for 15 years and no complaints. I have had good experiences with their phone tech service. Be sure and buy the electronic satellite gadget from camping world for about $30 to assist you setting up your satellite. Trying to use a compass is impossible at best. The Dish technicians use a real fancy electronic satellite finder but it cost about $300. When you sign up for Dish they give you a receiver but ask for the Dual receiver for both your home and the RV. This will allow you record movies so you watch them later. I think they charge you $5 a month for the second receiver but it bets hooking and unhooking your receiver to use in your RV. Just my 2 cents:)
