Does CW sell products through Amazon?

This may seem like a strange question, but I saw something on Amazon that leads me to ask this.

We were looking for a Vesta DWV335BBS dishwasher. CW has an Internet only sale price of $399 plus shipping and state sales tax for a total of $451.52. Shipping was direct from manufacturer in 2-4 weeks. PPL out of Houston was $20 something cheaper.

So, I type in the description on Amazon and find it for $348.23 with free shipping. Something on the listing catches my eye and I see the CW logo on the product photograph. It is the exact same photograph this is on the CW website.

So, is CW selling on Amazon at a lower price than their website or did someone rip off CW's photograph and logo?

Hello Thunder Mountain,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I do see the Camping World logo on the bottom of the picture of this product, but we do not have any products for sale on Amazon.com at all. I have someone looking into how this picture ended up on Amazon.com and I would also recommend you email amazon.com customer support to make them aware of this as well. Please let me know if you need anything else at all. Thank you and have a good day!

Thanks for the response. That is what I figured. The listing said sold and shipped by Amazon. So, I assume that someone at Amazon is probably in some deep stuff.

Someone at Amazon was too lazy to take a picture and yanked one from Camping World, including the logo.

That's not all either!

They just did an investigation on Amazon and found they use your past shopping and surfing, beacons, cookies etc. and ONLY show you items in the price range of items you usually buy and/or visit, etc.

Your friend could do the same search and find the same products for a less price or even higher if he is a big spender.

So if you have been searching the web for Lamborghini Veneno Roadster.....when you search for a deal on a refrigerator all your search will net you is the most expensive ones represented as the lowest deal! :B

Where does it all end? ๐Ÿ˜ž

Just clear cookies and shop before signing in Problem solved. IF using firefox install ghostery and block all trackers

Is there any reason one would want to allow trackers?

Depends on who the "one" is. If "one" is the business, then yes, more than likely. If "one" is the consumer, depends. I imagine some consumers like it. Probably far and few in between.

So...unauthorized use of the logo is CWs only problem here? What about the hundred buck savings offered by a competitor? I'm sure someone hijacked the photos from the web instead of taking their own. Pretty dumb. Show rooming is a real problem for brick and mortar retailers. Consumers go to a store or a brand name website to look at a product. Then they go to Amazon or eBay etc. and find a much lower price delivered. I've done it myself.
