Firefox Bookmarks

Well, on the computer I got in Dec. '12 and set up the bookmarks gradually and have updated Firefox as notices have come along, now with 23.0.1

It won't let me have bookmarks for the same webpage in more than one place.

Let's take the pages that give us regulated gas prices. I have bookmark headings for each province of Atlantic Canada. & I have one for camping.

By today's thinking I have a bookmark for each fuel page under each province and also for camping.

After all on one day I may think oh, check under the province.
Another day there may come a question in this forum about fuel for rving rigs and that day I'll check under camping.

So, how do I configure the current Firefox so that it will be practical and let me bookmark the same page under more than one topic?

Change the spelling or add a number for each different folder. The different name should allow you to save in different areas.

Sorry, that's not it. I said I do that. If you do that for the same page for two topics/headings/folders it deletes ALL but the LAST ONE CLICKED. It should be ok to put a webpage under MORE than ONE Topic!!!!

As I have said, none us thinks the same way all the time. You're saying what I said in different words illustrates that point in spades.

Other versions of Firefox let me put the same webpage under more than one topic/subject/folder. There should be a setting to do so in this one.

Folders = topics, of course.

I put whatever I want a bookmark for in a topic. Call it folder if you want. Subject heading is best term, IMHO.

There is bookmarks toolbar and bookmarks menu. Bookmarks menu is one place that has the subdivisions, aka topics, folders, subject headings, or whatever term works.

As I said I have topic headings for each Atlantic Canadian province. & I have one for Camping and the example I gave I want each province's webpage for regulated fuel prices in both the appropriate provincial topic heading and in the camping topic heading.

This stupid version of Firefox thinks that you only need to put a bookmark under one topic heading. Who the heck thinks the same way every day? It will only let you put one webpage be bookmarked under one topic. If you try to save a bookmark for one page under more than one topic it deletes what's already there. That's what is wrong.

Do you sort your Bookmarks into Folders? Maybe it's the way you create them. I use a Bookmark Sidebar and drag the Icon from the Address Bar to the Folder I desire. I can drag as many copies as I want to the same folder. I may not understand what you are trying to do?
