Firefox not going 'back' to previous page

Wrace
Explorer
Explorer
Win 7, FF 22.0

I don't know how this happened or if I accidentally changed something in settings but firefox is not going back to the previous page when I hit the back arrow. It goes to a page with the error message:

Document Expired

This document is no longer available

The requested document is not available in Firefox's cache.

As a security precaution, Firefox does not automatically re-request sensitive documents.Click Try Again to re-request the document from the website.

It does this every time I hit the back arrow, and the pages I'm attempting to return to are not 'sensitive documents'

How do I change this?

Thanks

I'm also using the current version of Firefox, and have never experienced that issue on the forums. It sounds like it's either being caused by a particular extension, or from a corrupt browser cache.

The new Firefox has a reset feature similar to SandboxIE.

Click on Help and select Troubleshooting Information. Then click on Reset Firefox. It will delete all of the unwanted junk. It will also delete all 3rd party add-ons you've installed. I ran the reset on my computer a few days ago and it more than doubled the speed of Firefox
To some it's a six pack, to me it's a support group.

I use both FF and Chrome. Chrome is what I use for my main Web browsing (in a SandboxIE sandbox to further ensure that any potential bad things are limited to life in a little jail), and I use FF for my banking and other items.

I do like SandboxIE. If my browser's profile gets corrupted, exit, have the sandbox wipe itself, and restart another sandbox/session. It can be configured to allow bookmarks and passwords to pass through, with everything else (cookies, site preferences, etc.) get wiped.

I started having several issues with FF and went to Chrome. FF to me seemed to go down hill in the last year or so.

Yes, it was happening on this forum, and all other websites. Anytime there was a prior page it would display that error message when I tried to go back to that page.

Go to about:config in location bar

Search for browser.sessionstore.postdata

Set value to -1
However, my browser.sesionsstore.postdata is set to 0. If you see a smily face after the word 'about' change it to a colon.

Thanks, that seems to have fixed the issue.

Try clicking really fast on back about 3 times....sometimes that works. ๐Ÿ™‚
