? for old Millenicom now going to Verizon

I have a question for those that use to have Millenicom Hotspots and were forced to go with Verizon. I see on several forums about calling Verizon at 800-233-8974 and being offered a one year contract at $99.99 plus a $10 discount bring the price back to the $89.99 paid to Millenicom. Yet when I call the number all I am offered is the $99.99 deal. What did those of you do different that you got the $10 discount for one year??

Through October you can sign up with Verizonwireless directly for a new account and get double the GB of data. With a 20GB plan you get 40GB data. Ends today so hurry.

AT&T is offering the same deal this month though you will need a new hotspot with them.

But that's ONLY for a Verizon phone account - NOT for a standalone MiFi.

No double deals if all you want to do is buy data for a MiFi.

  • I think was posted on via link in the First millincom thread

that this option was only for customers that do not have vzw phones
that only had the hotspot data service thru M and NO VZW phones..not a prior VZW customer
  • Just hung up with them. Person I spoke with claimed the $89/mo was not and had not been offered to anyone.

Didn't ask for a supervisor yet. Since we have phones with them, I am thinking the 30g shared plan might be the best way to go.
  • Just received this message from a friend that was using Mellenicom. 10:38am 10/31/2014

"I got into Verizon just now and the rep was helpful and knowledgeable. I signed up for 20GB of service at $89/month with no contract. The rep completed all of the changeover and billing changes without a hitch. The only catch is that overage is billed at $8/GB."

  • the text message sent by Verizon to the jetpack owners had a different phone number for them to call. The regular reps don't know about the special offer to Millenicom users. The only info I could find on it is the same phone number you've already tried...

Lots of chatter on this over on facebook Internet for RVers page...click here

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/rvinternet/

Basically... at first everyone that called that number got the deal but they got swamped is what I'm thinking... and the other cust. serv reps did not all know about the deal. Denied it existed even. It was necessary to ask to speak to someone else about it. Sometimes the person was put on hold and the CSR came back on "better informed".

$89.00/month for 20GB ... with a contract ... $8/GB for overages should be what is offered but there are people saying they were quoted different amounts on the overages ... others saying they could not get the $99/month deal no matter what. I guess it all depends on who you get and how much YOU KNOW before you go to make the call to them.

You have to get firm with the C/S rep and tell them if they want your business it's 89.99 or your walking to AT&T. Ask to speak to their supervisor.
  • I had also seen where some were getting it for $89.99 but when I called yesterday they would only offer me the $99.99 option. I am waiting for the bill to see what I really pay since I am registered with Verizon as a military veteran which gives me a 15% discount on my bill. Suspect after taxes etc. it will be pretty much the same as what I paid Millenicom.
