Google Maps --- Where is Pegman?

Can't find "pegman" in the new google maps. It does appear in the main map, but not in the "personal places" maps where I have spotted the RV parks, diesel stops, restaurants, etc that we go to. Am I missing something?

Is pegman (gives closeup street views) not going to be available in the personal maps any more? I like it especially when trying to find diesel stops in small towns. It shows me whether there is likely to be enough clearance for my 5th wheel rig. It also gives you some idea whether an RV park or restaurant is likely to be a dump, or something OK.
  • Sounds like you have converted your map to use Maps Engine (lite) or MEL... MEL is not Google Maps, it's more like Microsoft Streets - it's about adding your own data and route planning, not about streetview or traffic.

Check out these two links, both are maps I have saved on my Google account. The one in California I converted to MEL.

  • I was blundering around and accidentally loaded one of my maps into a trial version of Google Pro, the pay version. It was very nice and intuitive; had all the things I can no longer find in the free version. I can guess what is going on here. Of course they won't let me keep it without paying!
  • Some people may still be able to go back to the classic maps but they are all being switched over. Once that happens the option to go back is gone. Mine were switched about a week ago. Not happy!

You may be able to get the Classic version Here
  • Double click works on the main map, but not on my personal maps. Also, I used to search for something on the main map, click on it and it would give me the option of adding it to one of my personal maps. No longer.
